Gorgeous fall fleeces now available!

We’ve updated our Fleece page with photos of our wool harvest!

This year we have our biggest fleeces, as we expected, with our smallest ones yielding more wool that some of our largest in the past!

Yesterdays shearing adventure netted over 46 pounds of skirted wool, not counting the dirty wool that we keep back for mulching, etc!  Our largest fleece was from Shirley at nearly 5 pounds!

And best of all, these fleeces have the longest staple length of any of our fleeces so far!

Here is a sampling to whet your appetite with some inspirational Aussie shearing music to entertain you!

  1. <font color=’black’ size=’3′ face=’Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, Serif’>Interesting… haven’t seen that latest version of the story. I once saw a 1970s era film version of "Far From the Madding Crowd" which starred Julie Christie (Lara from "Doctor Zhivago"). It really was beautifully done, and restrained in passion etc., but it suffered much from a common flaw of 60s and 70s-era historical drama… hideous 70s-era women’s hairstyles. (I have the same sad complaint about "Dr. Zhivago", which is of course even more scandalous.) I guess this is one of my pet peeves about movies, which has of course only gotten more pronounced since we got involved in re-enactment. <div><br> </div> <div>The book’s always better, anyway. Right now I’m going through some E.M. Forster after having re-watched one of my favorite movies ever, "A Room With a View". The book, happily, enlarges on the movie, but the movie was pretty true to the book. Someone once posted on my Facebook page: "Never judge a book by its movie."</div> <div><br> </div> <div>Janice</div> <div><br> </div> <div>PS – Wild Goose Ranch says they’ll save me some feathers!
