All fleeces are sold at this time. Stay tuned…we will let you know as soon as more become available!
What is so unique and versatile about Icelandic wool?
* Naturally colored, so no need for dying
* Dual coated, so can be separated into shorter (Thel) and longer (Tog) fibers for different uses
* Shorter fibers are softer and more insulating, longer fibers are coarser and more water repellant. The combination is extraordinary!
* Less lanolin, so cleaner to work with, can be spun in the grease
Here are this year’s fleeces!
2.2 pounds SOLD
Her lamb, Freyja, with more richly contrasted and quite lengthy grey lamb’s fleece.
Fatima, Millie’s girl. Rich with phaeomelanin highlights, length and fullness that nearly obscures her legs from view! SOLD
Her brother, Drover, very similar. SOLD
Molly’s yearling girl, Shirley, mostly grey and very voluminous! She’ll be happy to have a haircut and lose a few pounds!
Bruna. I love the contrasting browns and again, look at the length! 2.24 pounds
Boomer, Bruna’s brother — solid black with a slight “touch of the grey” this year…SOLD
Kemba…super soft black – she’s a yearling, so nearly as soft as a lamb and very black…2.79 pounds
